Dennis Weaver Emmy

At the 13th annual Emmy Awards in 1961, Dennis Weaver presented a celebrated parody of Hamlet. In total seriousness, Weaver delivered

"TV or not TV, that is the question. Whether `tis nobler in to suffer the slugs and arrows of Bonanza ... or switch to Perry Mason."

His skit, all agreed, stole the show.

Weaver said, "I'm not really into making fun of Hamlet. I will do the parody if I'm able to approach it as though it were the real work."

By making the presentation this way, Weaver made the parody hilarious.

Weaver won an Emmy Award - Best Supporting Actor (Continuing Character) in a Dramatic Series for: "Gunsmoke"
